Grief Coalitions

Grief Coalitions are hosted by several congregations in the area to provide grief support to their community. They are typically free and include a different speaker each week and small groups.

Bloomington Richfield Grief Coalition

Churches in the Bloomington-Richfield area are working together to provide free support and education for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one.

Downtown Coalition for Grief Support

Founded in 1997, the Downtown Coalition for Grief Support is a unique non-profit resource to help Twin Cities adults deal with the death of a family member, friend or partner. The group is managed entirely by volunteers and trained facilitators from several Minneapolis congregations.

Edina Coalition for Grief Support

Churches in the Edina area offer a short-term, nondenominational program for adults who are experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one.

South Suburban Grief Coalition (Growing through Loss)

Churches in the Southern Metro provide support for adults who have experienced loss, information about the grieving process, caring and support from others who are also grieving.

North Suburban Grief Coalition (Growing through Loss)

Churches in the Northern Metro provide an opportunity for individuals to obtain information and support for a variety of loss and grief issues.

South Minneapolis Coalition for Grief Support

Provides education and support for those who are grieving; support groups are designed for adults experiencing grief as a result of the death of a loved one.

Southwest Grief Coalition

Southwest Grief Coalition is a joint effort of area churches to provide grief support in the southwest suburban area. Participants learn about the process of grief and share their experiences in a safe, caring and confidential setting that offers the hope of personal growth and healing.

West Suburban Grief Coalition

West Suburban Grief Coalition is a joint effort of 17 area churches to provide grief support in the west suburban area. Participants learn about the process of grief and share their experiences in a safe, caring and confidential setting that offers the hope of personal growth and healing.
